ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Including all of the following and other duties as may be assigned.
Handles all customer inquiries related to Planning, Building and Zoning matters.
Assist customers with all application processes related to Planning and Zoning.
Assists customers with permitting application trouble-shooting difficulties Processes building permit and Zoning Compliance and Property Classification payments Schedules Plumbing and Mechanical inspections Proficient in current and future computer network and software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, SunGard, Vision and various application specific packages around Permitting, Zoning and Planning.
Also, must be proficient in Tyler Cashiering and Munis operating system Migrate all existing records into digitally accessible format.
Scan and upload all Certificate of Occupancies, Certificate of Temporary Occupancies, Certificate of Completions, Building Plans and Fire Plans if applicable.
Enter all new record information into digitally accessible format.
Provide redundant coverage for all of the duties and responsibilities of Permits, Processing Aide, Zoning Office Clerk, Zoning Office Manager and Planning Secretary.
Cover Switchboard when operator is absent or on vacation or on a break Performs other specific duties as directed by the Zoning Director

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree; plus, proficiency in various departmental technology applications including Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe as well as other software applications.
Organizational skills including ability to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment a must.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondance, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondance.
Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, mulitply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and precent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding, to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
